People/Subject

McIntosh, William John (1863-1926)

William John MacIntosh was born in 1863 in Owen Sound, Ontario. He married Catherine Hart Dalgleish on November 14, 1894. They had one daughter, Isabel Drew Marr (nee McIntosh), who was the first caesarean section in B.C. William died May 11, 1926, in Fort Langley, and is buried in the Fort Langley Cemetery.

McKee, Robert (1845-1926)

Robert McRoberts McKee was born in Ireland in 1845. In 1870 he married Esther McCleery and they had one son. Sometime later the family, including Robert's brother, James McKie [McKee, 1841-1919], immigrated to Canada from Belfast, Ireland. At this time, Esther was pregnant with their second child, and shortly after their arrival, a duaghter was born in Vancouver (Margaret Jane). The family moved to Langley, and three more children were born there: Esther (1874), Robert (1876), and James (1877). Each of the brothers farmed 160 acres on the Nicomekl River River just southeast of the Fort farm, and Robert McKee was one of the 29 petitioners who requested the incorporation of the Langley and Derby district into a municipality on March 23, 1872. Esther died in 1883, and Robert McKee remarried Augusta McCarthy in 1887. He was the Reeve of the Township of Langley in 1888. Robert died on February 9, 1926, and was buried in the Fort Langley Cemetery.

McKie [McKee], James (1841-1919)

James McKie [McKee, 1841-1919], from Belfast, Ireland, served as a marine in the Royal Navy for 11 years prior to arriving in Langley, B.C., with his brother, Robert McRoberts McKee (1845-1926). They each farmed 160 acres on the Salmon River just southeast of the Fort farm, and were 2 of the 29 petitioners who requested the incorporation of the Langley and Derby district into a municipality on March 23, 1872.

McLeod, Neil

Neil McLeod was born in Nevada in approximately 1880. He was working as a clerk in New Westminster when he married Nelly (Nellie) Martha Ennis on April 22, 1914. He was the father of Howard Neil McLeod.

Michaud, (Joseph) Zotique (1882-1960)

Joseph Zotique was born in 1882 to parents Joseph Michaud and Georgiana Michaud (nee Morin). His first name was Joseph, like his father, but he went by his middle name. Various spellings of his middle name exist. When he was 37 he married Elizabeth Michaud (nee Selander), age 19; the wedding took place on 16 December 1919 at St. Peter's Church, New Westminster.

Murray, John

John Murray was born in 1849. He died in 1939 and is buried in the Murrayville Cemetery.
