1 Brochure : heavy paper ; 28 x 20.5 cm. This brochure, prepared by B.C. Hydro, is called "Langley/ Industrial Centre/ In the heart of the/ Greater Vancouver & Fraser Valley Area." The brochure explains the features of a new industrial development in Langley City, and its benefits. The brochure lists such things as location, services, labor, taxes, and zoning. The brochure includes two black and white aerial photographs of Langley City, one of which has the roads labelled in red. The front of the brochure has a colour map of Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, and includes the railway lines.

The City of Langley, B.C., covering the Langley Prairie region, was incorporated in 1955.

Township of Langley

The Township of Langley, B.C., comprising Langley, Fort Langley, Murrayville, Langley Prairie, Derby, Milner, Aldergrove, Otter, Salmon River Uplands, and Glen Valley, was incorporated in 1873. The City of Langley, B.C., covering the Langley Prairie region, was incorporated as a separate entity in 1955. Langley was named after Thomas Langley, a prominent stockholder in the management of the Hudson's Bay Company. He had inherited his brother's stock in the Company in 1793 and was selected as a member of the committee in 1807. He held this position until his death in 1829.
