Description

British Columbia 1958 Centennial coin. The obverse is a likeness of Sir James Douglas, first Governor of BC, and the reverse shows the parliament buildings in Victoria, built in 1897. This coin was struck by the Victoria Numismatic Society at the Royal Mint, London in the hope that it would become a lasting souvenir of the centenary of the founding of British Columbia.
