Description

The fonds consists of material relating to the centennial celebrations held in Langley, B.C., on April 26, 1973, including event schedules and programs, council meeting agenda, draft copies of a history of Langley to be placed in a time capsule and genealogies of families of the original 1872 petitioners for incorporation, compiled by the 100th Anniversary Committee. Fonds also consists of assorted bank books,receipt books, financial statements, and minutes of the Langley Centennial Committee, as well as letters approving project grants related to the Centennial (1965-1971).

The City of Langley, B.C., covering the Langley Prairie region, was incorporated as a separate entity in 1955.
