Ernest John Cox was born on May 2, 1890. He was the first Editor of the Langley Advance newspaper. Ernest died on June 24, 1974.

She was born Ida Jeffery in Exeter, Devon, England on November 8th, 1890. She came to Canada in 1912, and to Langley in 1931. She was the wife of E. J. Cox. Her husband had founded the newspaper, the Langley Advance, and Ida worked in the newspaper plant. She would read proofs, and assist with the production of commercial printing. She had a son and a daughter. She passed away Feb 6th 1975.
