Rev. Elihu and Emily Manuel and family portrait. Manuel was the Reverend at Milner Church from January 1896 - June 1899. Back row (L-R): Phillip Chapman, Leslie Allen, and Reginald Martin. Front row (L-R): Elizabeth Hilda and Leon Wilbur.

Manuel, Elihu
Elihu Manuel was born in about 1865. He came to Vancouver in 1891 with the first Mission for Methodists. He and wife Emily (ca. 1870-1955) had six children: Leslie Allen (1891 - 1919), Phillip Chapman (1895 - 1984), Reginald Martin (1893-1918), Elizabeth Hilda Blanche (1897-1968), Leon Wilbur Lacey (1903 - 1998) and Harold Kingston (1906-1968). Manuel was the Reverend at Milner Church from January 1896 - June 1899. Rev. Manuel went to Ladner and Richmond before retiring to Chilliwack. He died there at the age of 76 on April 14, 1941.
