Mary Ellen is sitting on a bench while Elsie is standing on a fur textured blanket behind Mary Ellen with her hand on the armrest of the bench. Both girls are looking at the photographer. Both girls are wearing plaid dresses with white socks and dark coloured shoes. Both girls are holding a small bouquet of flowers.

Tingey, Mary Ellen McIntosh (nee Wilson)

Mary Ellen Wilson (1891-1979) was born in Australia to parents Catherine (nee Kilday) and James Wilson. She had a twin sister named Elsie Wilson. Her mother and twin sister died, and Mary Ellen and her father left Australia on a sailing vessel, settling in Canada and eventually ending up in Langley in 1911. Mary Ellen married Bert McIntosh on April 27, 1910, and they had a son, Wilson. Wilson married and had Gordon. Gordon graduated from Langley High School in 1963.

Bert passed away, and Mary Ellen married George Tingey in Mission on September 8, 1945. She was 54 years old, and he was 61. They lived in Port Coquitlam on Pipeline Road. They moved to Langley, on McClughan Road, and then operated a mink farm on at 6940 200th Street.

Mary Ellen later lived on 54th Avenue in Langley City. She passed away in 1979 at the age of 88.
