1 postcard that consists of an oval bust portrait of a mustachioed man wearing a military jacket with a prominent lapel. There is an embossed gold wreath that borders the oval portrait. Written in gold text above the portrait it reads, "Field-Marshal / Sir John French." To the right of the portrait is a blue and red Union Jack flag hanging from a gold embossed flag pole. Below the portrait there is a gold embossed bordered text box that surrounds blue printed text that reads, "Hats off to the Flag / we all love and adore. / And give it a mighty / great cheer, / For with gallant Commanders / like this to the fore- / Old England has / nothing to fear." To the left of the text box is a grey image of an artillery cannon on wheels. The barrel of the cannon is aimed skyward. There is a grey image above the top right hand corner of the text box of a military ship. The top left corner of the front of the postcard has a grey image of an airplane.
The reverse of the postcard has the relief imprint of the wreath, flag, and text box. Hand written in pencil at the top left of the reverse, it reads, "5-." Printed at the centre it reads, "POST CARD / FOR ADDRESS ONLY." Written vertically on the left it reads, "B.B., London. Manufactured in their London Factory.
