Hickey, Pat
Patrick Hickey was born in Ireland, April 25, 1858. He met his wife, Janet (known as Jennie) in Ontario. She was born in 1840 (a much older woman) and had three children from a previous marriage: John, William, and Sophia Bowles. Patrick and Jennie purchased the southern quarter section of the Murchison family's property in 1889, and farmed there for about 15 years. Patrick died about 1905, and Jennie in 1907.
Oakes, Robert Allen
Robert Allan Oakes arrived in BC in 1880, from Queen's County, Mountrath, Ireland. He came over with Frank Worrell. He first worked as a policeman in the Cariboo before settling in Langley. He married Hannah Worrell, the sister of his friend Francis Vaughan Worrell. He is described as a prankster, causing fights and feuds in Langley.
