Description

A red hardcover book titled "Jean Val Jean." The front cover has a golden embossed stamp on the bottom right of the cover which reads "Clarke Irwin Canadian Classics," printed around an image of a candle stick. The front cover has "39" written in pencil on the bottom left and "39 II" is written in black felt on the spine. The spine reads "Jean Val Jean" and "Cleaver" in gold. The pages are yellowed with age. The first page has a blue ink stamp that reads "Langley Junior-Senior High School" indicating these books were used in other schools around the district.

Aldergrove Elementary School

Aldergrove Elementary School, formerly located at 27032 Fraser Highway, was built in 1913, but was officially opened February 1914. It was originally a two-room school. In the 1940s the school population grew and the basement was used for extra rooms before three rooms were added in 1948. It was added to again in 1962-64, 1967-8, and 1984. The school had a facelift to recreate the original exterior in 2000. The school was demolished in December 2015 to make way for the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre. At one point, the school had grades 1-8.

Langley Secondary School

Langley Secondary School is located at 21405 56 Avenue, and is part of the Langley School District, later School District 35 (Langley). The current school building was built in 1948. The school has been added to over the years, and in 2019 is being completely rebuilt.
