This box contains 2 metallic tube hand-electrodes, 2 insulating wood handles, and 2 sponge electrodes, along with the various wiring connecting them all. Devices such as this one were used to administer small electric shocks in an attempt to cure various afflictions, depending on where the electrodes were placed on the patient’s body.
