Oil painting of the old homestead of Jane Strayhorne Seely on Yale and Hopkins Road near Murrayville, BC. in the early 1890s. This was painted by her granddaughter Gertrude Ramsey.

Seely, Jane Strayhorne
Jane Strayhome Seely was an early pioneer who came west from Minneapolis, Minnesota USA in 1892. She came to live nearher two sons, George and Thomas Seely, on their ranch on Yale Road, 2.5 miles east of Murrayville. She had a tin type image of herself made shortly before she came. Jane is buried in Murrayville and her gravestone has her marked as born in 1820. Her granddaughter, Gertude Ramsey, made paintings she dedicated to her grandmother and then donated to the museum.
