Stanley Tyers was born July 3, 1898 Nottingham, England, son of Mr. and Mrs. William K. Tyers of Vancouver. He farmed in Fern Ridge. He enlisted with the 172nd Battalion in February, 1916. He was with the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles Battalion when he died April 09, 1917 during the Battle for Vimy Ridge and is buried at Thelus Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Service number 687665. Canadian in Khaki (Sommer).
