James Chalmers was born overseas. In 1891 he qualified as a Chemist and Druggist in Edinburgh. He married Isabella Hutcheon and they moved to a homestead near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan by the early 1900s.
Isabella Chalmers, nee Hutcheon
Isabella Chalmers (in some sources spelled Isobella) was born Isabella Hutcheon to Alex and Helen Hutcheon in Scotland, in approximately 1881. She married James Chalmers, a chemist, and they move to a homestead north of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan in the early 1900s. She had at least one daughter, Dorothy Divall.
