Miller, Tom
Thomas Alder Miller was born on May 28, 1920 in Vancouver. He was a resident of Aldergrove from 1920 to 2004. He graduated high school in Langley and worked as a logger on Vancouver Island until 1941. He joined the RCAF and became a wireless operator in England for the 433rd Squadron. His plane was shot down on April 23, 1944. He spent the rest of the war in POW camps in Germany.
After the war, he worked at Otter Co-op and later Canada Customs. In 1978, he retired as a Superintendent. He was also an active member of the Aldergrove Elks.
Thomas's wife name was Mary. They were married for 57 years and had three children - Roy, Deane and Rita. He passed away on June 8, 2011, age 91.
