Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church
St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church was located in Glen Valley on the Fred McLellan property (lot 325) - just east of their mill (it was 100 yds up from the Fraser River at McIvor wharf on the McLellan farm). Long time resident Alf Trattle recalls it was located at River and McIvor Roads in Glen Valley. The church was named St. Mary's in honour of Fred McLellan's wife, Mary. Lumber for the church was donated by Henry West, from his mill. Once a month a priest would come from Langley Prairie for a service. Norm McLellan used to store his fish nets in the old church until it was beyond repair and bulldozed over. This occured sometime after 1958.
