Description

1 report card booklet, covered by a green piece of construction paper that has been illustrated but does not cover the whole back of the booklet; illustration is a painting of a lamb on grass in front of a blue sky with white clouds; cover reads "Jackie Nurse/ Langley Central Gr. vi." hand printed in blue ink; the progress card is inside, signed by A. Olson, teacher, on the front; front identifies it as Jacqueline Nurse's Grade Six progress card for the school year 1950-1951, for "Div. 3, Langley Central" inside there are evaluative details filled in in black ink next to green typed standard fields; on the back, parent's signature is given by "Doris M. Nurse" for all three terms.

This building was originally Langley High School. It later became Langley Central School, before finally being Langley Central Fundamental School. It burned down in the 1990s.

Martin, Jacqueline (nee Nurse)

Jacqueline (Jackie) Maureen Nurse was born to parents Walter and Doris Nurse in Vancouver on May 6, 1939, but was raised in Langley. She had two sisters, Maxine and Dixie, and a brother named Kenneth. The family lived at 5483 203rd Street, and Jackie attended Langley Prairie School during the 1940s. She worked for BC Tel, like her father, and married a Mr. Martin. They had two daughters. Jackie passed away on December 7, 1997.
