Steamboat excursion, including Langley residents, up river from New Westminister to Derby in 1890. Joseph Michaud is seventh from the left in the top row. He is the only man in the top row with a beard. M. Michaud is the sixth from the left in the top row, standing left of Joseph Michaud. Z. Michaud is the fifth from the left in the top row. He is standing next to (not in front of) the tall man in bowler hat. Z. Michaud is 18 yrs. old in this picture.

Michaud, (Joseph) Zotique (1882-1960)
Joseph Zotique was born in 1882 to parents Joseph Michaud and Georgiana Michaud (nee Morin). His first name was Joseph, like his father, but he went by his middle name. Various spellings of his middle name exist. When he was 37 he married Elizabeth Michaud (nee Selander), age 19; the wedding took place on 16 December 1919 at St. Peter's Church, New Westminster.

Michaud, Joseph (1841-1909)
Joseph (1841-1909) and Georgina (Morin) Michaud were the first French settlers in Langley municipality, B.C., moving there from St. Philippe de Kamouraska, Que., in 1878. They built Michaud House in 1888, where the first Roman Catholic mass in Langley was held and which, now restored, is the oldest house in Langley City. A former schoolhouse moved onto the Michaud property became the first Langley Catholic church, called St. Joseph's after an uncle. Joseph's older brother, Maximilian Michaud, also owned 600 acres in the Langley, B.C., area.

Michaud, Maximilian, Jr., 1874-1960
Son of Joseph Michaud, (1841-1909) and Georgiana Michaud (nee Moran). His uncle (his father' s brother) was Maximilian Michaud Sr. , He married Annie Belle Michaud (nee Smith).
