Beaton, Alexander
Alexander Beaton was born in1838 in Glenelg, Scotland. He married Annie (nee McCrimmon), and is the father of Archibald, John, Donald (Don), Angus and Kenneth Beaton.
He is the brother of Neil Beaton, a Matsqui pioneer of another branch of the Beaton family. Alexander died Sept. 1, 1908.

Beaton, Kenneth Cyril Bothwell
Kenneth Cyril Bothwell Beaton was born on 30 August, 1918, to Kenneth Beaton and a Bothwell. The Beaton family was originally from Scotland, and Kenneth's grandparents settled first in Quebec before moving to Surrey in 1888 and homesteading in Langley the following year. Kenneth was interviewed in 1977 by the museum. His interview can be found at SR-006.
Beaton, William (Bob)
William (Bob) John Campbell Beaton was born on 18 February 1890 to parents Roderick and Christina (nee Campbell) in Cutoff Valley (Fraser Mills?), BC. He moved with his parents at the age of three to Otter Road in Langley, where he lived until he was 17. He had a brother and a sister, Alexander Neil Stuart (b. 1892) and Effie Marie (b. 1897). He started attending Otter School when he was about 6 years old, and Sadie McInnes took him to school.
Bob married Margaret Grace Walden Brown (1891-1974) in 1938. He died on October 12, 1985 in Burnaby.
Bob and Margaret were interviewed in 1973 by the museum. The interview can be found at SR-007.
Boardman, Annie Edith (nee Steel)
Annie Edith Steel was born on September 26, 1895 to Fred and Margaret Anne Steel, nee Beaton. She is the granddaughter of Alexander Beaton. Annie was a teacher at Glenwood School in Fernridge circa 1913. She married Clarence Boardman on May 2, 1914, and they had 3 children: Margaret, Priscilla, and Douglas.
