1 medallion ; brass. This "medallion" was one of several company time checks used at the Fernridge Lumber Company Limited mills by the European heritage managers to identify workers of Asian and South Asian heritage. This medallion identifies a Japanese person only as "JAP/ 49" in black text on the circular medallion. These time checks were likely given to workers each morning and worn on a string around their necks, then handed back at the end of the day for their day's wages. The time checks were used to identify Japanese, Indian, and Chinese workers, but were not given to white employees.
