Monahan, Simon Fraser
Born in 1853 in Orilia, Ontario Canada to James William and Caroline M. (nee Fraser) Monahan. Simon and his family moved to Langley to join his brother, Robert Monahan and worked at the small mill at Murray's Corners. The lumber there was used to build most of the homes in South Langley. Simon's namestake, the explorer Simon Fraser was actually his mother's uncle. Date of death: May 24, 1915 in Murrayville at the age of 63.
