McDonald, Lawrence Linwood
Lawrence Linwood McDonald was a son of Mary Jane (nee Hurtt) and Malcolm Loch McDonald. He was born in 1890 in Hoople, North Dakota. Lawrence had two siblings, George (1895-1973) and Lida (1889-1985). The family left North Dakota and farmed at Birdseye Creek, Oregon until 1911. They then moved to Vancouver for 9 years. Lawrence and his brother George had both served in the armed forces in WWI and used their Soldier's Settlement Grants to buy land for a farm on County Line Road in Aldergrove in 1920. When Malcolm McDonald died in 1929, his widow moved to New Westminster.
