Charles Samuel Jr. was born on April 2, 1918 in Vancouver to Frank and Margaret Elizabeth (nee McClughan) Crompton. He is the brother of William Frank Crompton and Helen Crompton. Charles Samuel Jr. joined the New Westminster Regiment Division of the Home Reserve. He married Rita D. Botkin from Huronville, Saskatchewan in 1945 and built a home along McClughan Road (88 Avenue). They had two children Linda Marie and Charles Andrew. Charlie found a job with the Langley Municipality where he worked for many years as well as farming his acreage in West Langley. Charles retired from the municipality and drove a truck for John Davies part time. In 1974, they sold the farm and moved to the Lac LaHache area of the Cariboo. The established a beef ranch at Murphy Lake for a few years. They eventually moved to a home on 3/4 acre lot in the 108 Ranch area. Charles died in June, 1999.
