Beige-green gas mask in a cardboard box with instructions on the inside of the lid for using the respirator. The mask is a civilian issue, in a size large. It has a single large eye hole covered in plastic and a adjustable strap which goes around the back of the head. The plastic has become brittle making the mask fragile and difficult to handle. The cardboard box is marked "large" with the word "top" on the top. The inside lid contains instructions for packing the respirator. The instruction booklet contains step by step instructions to put on the mask, remove the mask, and how to care for and clean it. It was printed in Ottawa, in 1942, by Edmond Cloutier, Printer to the King's Most Excellent Majesty.
