Bouwman, Roland J.
Roland J. Bouwman was born in Holland and moved to Canada at an early age. His was educated in the Prairies before moving to Vancouver in 1936. He joined the RCAF in 1941 and served as a navigator in the Mediteranean and in Africa. He attained the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Bouwman studied architecture for four years and graduated from law school in 1954. He was appointed Vancouver Deputy City Prosecutor for 12 years. He was then vice-president of the B.C. Telephone Co. until 1979. He was chairman of the Court Committee of the Vancouver Justice Council and deputy chairman of the Vancouver Centennial (?) Museum and Planetarium. He ran as a candidate for the federal Liberal Fraser Valley West riding on May 22, 1979, but was not elected.
