Description

A green softcover children's book titled "Mother Goose." The cover is green with a colourful drawing of a large goose in a flower hat with 8 ducklings, some of which are also wearing hats. Over her head is the title "The Metropolitan / Mother Goose," with Mother Goose in yellow font. On the back of the book is a picture of a white goose in a bib, wearing a hat, eating from a large bowl with a spoon. The bottom right corner reads "Printed in Canada." The book is by Elizabeth C. Watson and it is illustrated by Emma Clark. It was published by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Ottawa in 1920. The book contains illustrations. Inside the book is an inscription reading "Kathleen McVicar."

Kells, Kathleen Laura (nee McVicar)

Kathleen Laura McVicar was born on December 29, 1925, in Burnaby, to Archibald and Ivy McVicar, nee Chatt (1903-2002). She married Frederick Ellis Kells (April 9, 1923 - ) in 1946, and they had twin boys in 1950 and a daughter in 1956. She worked for the Income Tax office between 1944 and 1946. She was interested in local history and wrote about the Port Kells area. She volunteered at the Langley Centennial Museum. Kathleen passed away in 2012 at the age of 86.
