Brass pin with painted highlights in the form of a wreath of maple leaves, beaver, crown, and the words "CANADIAN ENGINEERS." Back is stamped "BIRKS STERLING." Pin clasp on back is missing. According to Langley military collector Fred Hazell on 17 January 2008, this is called a "sweetheart pin" and was worn by civilians, usually the "sweethearts," or partners of soldiers. This pin was James Skea's, perhaps given to his "sweetheart."
