Portrait of Kitty Sellers, daughter of Ellen and George Sellers. Photos 5211, 5212 and 5213 were carried by George Sellers overseas during WWI and were damaged when he was shot through the heart on September 2, 1918.

Sellers, Kitty Joan
Kitty Joan Sellers was born on November 16, 1912 to parents Ellen (nee Coote) and George Edward Sellers. They lived in a Craftsman bungalow built at 22822 88th Ave. in Fort Langley on an 18 acre parcel that was subdivided in 1911. Kitty later had a sister, Nancy Janet, born on January 12, 1915. When WWI broke out, Sellers was appointed the Quartermaster of the 'B' Squadron 31st Regiment, B.C. Horse (Mounted Rifles). At the time he enlisted in the Canadian Over-seas Expeditionary Force in 1915, he was recorded as living at 2046 Pendrell St. in Vancouver, and Ellen was recorded as living in New Westminster. George was killed overseas during WWI on Spetember 2, 1918, shot through the heart. Ellen died of Influenza on March 1, 1920. Their daughters were sent back to England to live with family. Kitty eventually married Noel Gillespie.
