Linwood's Shoe Store was owned and operated by Englishman Joseph Linwood. The shoe business was sold to Linwood from a man named Harvey Morwood when Linwood moved from Saskatchewan to Langley in 1934. The business was moved to face Glover Road and was named "Linwood's Shoe Hospital". The business was moved again in 1950 near the roads Yale and New McLellan which is now known as the corner of Fraser Highway and 56th Avenue. Shortly after the second move, Joseph Linwood died on October 7th 1952 after being in the shoe business for 45 years. Before Joseph's passing the business was handed over to his son Dennis. It is the believed that the store had closed sometime between 1987 and 1988 or shortly after the death of Dennis Joseph Linwood who passed on September 25th 1988.

In the beginning it was a sleigh route. Serious construction started on it in 1872. The Langley Municipality in 1874 requested and received money from the province to make it suitable for buggy traffic through Langley. It was not in good condition until 1897 - 1898 when it was gravelled. In 1922 the first two mile section of the road was cemented between Langley Prairie and Murrayville. The cement was laid by A. B. Palmer Co, who stamped the date in the pavement at the end of each day.
