Description

A mustard-coloured hardcover book titled "Treasure Island." The title is printed on the top in black lettering, below which is a drawing of a tall sailing ship. The authors name, "Robert Louis Stevenson," is written towards the bottom in black. The title and author are repeated in black lettering on the spine, while the back is blank. "26 II" is written in marker in the bottom left corner. The first page has a blue ink stamp that reads "Langley Central School" indicating these books were used in other schools around the district.

Aldergrove Elementary School

Aldergrove Elementary School, formerly located at 27032 Fraser Highway, was built in 1913, but was officially opened February 1914. It was originally a two-room school. In the 1940s the school population grew and the basement was used for extra rooms before three rooms were added in 1948. It was added to again in 1962-64, 1967-8, and 1984. The school had a facelift to recreate the original exterior in 2000. The school was demolished in December 2015 to make way for the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre. At one point, the school had grades 1-8.

Langley Central School

This building was originally Langley High School. It later became Langley Central School, before finally being Langley Central Fundamental School. It burned down in the 1990s.
