Invitation: bifold on cardstock paper; front page contains the coat of arms of the Township of Langley (TOL) on white at top and title in black on light-green bottom; top and bottom are separated by several multicolored lines with a slight curve; inside left contains the formal invitation from the Township of Langley (TOL), the Mayor and Council and the names of Award recipients; inside left contains details regarding the event including the date (Thursday, April 7, 2016), the location of the event (the Langley Events Centre) and a request to respond to the invitation; the back panel contains the phrase "Volunteers make the world a better place for us all."

Township of Langley

The Township of Langley, B.C., comprising Langley, Fort Langley, Murrayville, Langley Prairie, Derby, Milner, Aldergrove, Otter, Salmon River Uplands, and Glen Valley, was incorporated in 1873. The City of Langley, B.C., covering the Langley Prairie region, was incorporated as a separate entity in 1955. Langley was named after Thomas Langley, a prominent stockholder in the management of the Hudson's Bay Company. He had inherited his brother's stock in the Company in 1793 and was selected as a member of the committee in 1807. He held this position until his death in 1829.
