Kells, Frederick Ellis
Frederick Ellis Kells was born to parents Sarah and Frederick Kells April 9, 1923 in New Westminster. He was raised on a farm, and attended Port Kells Elementary and Lord Tweedsmuir High School in Cloverdale. He liked to work on tugs during the summer. He joined the R.C.A.F in 1942 and became an air frame mechanic in Moncton. He married Kathleen Laura McVicar in 1946. They built a house together on Telegraph Trail, just north of Townline Road. They had twin boys in 1950 and a daughter in 1956. Fred became a coppersmith at the B.C. Distillery, where he worked for 30 years. He died in Langley in 2011.
