Fire hose in hand, two firefighters amongst black smoke worked to extinguish blaze. The centre of Langley City's business section was threatened by fire which caused extensive damage to Totem Meat Store. The fire appeared to have originated at the rear of the building in a small enclosed alleyway. The meat store was operated by Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gray and their son Dick and the building was owned by John Davis. The Langley Advance, January 31, 1957, page 1.
