Birthplace of B.C. Gallery
The Birthplace of B.C Gallery is located at 9054 Glover Road, Fort Langley (2005). The Gallery/House is on land that was owned, in the 1910s, by Dr. Marr. He had his office on this site before his house was expanded to include his practice. Later, notary and Fort Langley Community Improvement Association treasurer George Young had a small house here. The two roomed house had a room for sleeping/living and another, in the front, that he worked from. In 1969, Ken Passmore built this gallery/house. He lived upstairs, selling antiques out of the store downstairs, known as "The Outpost." Before 1996, the location was a lampshade business. In 1996, the Birthpace of B.C. Gallery was opened by Mayor Kurt Alberts and his wife, Brenda.
