Description
Photographs mainly relating to Russell Brown's work as a fishermen and logger, but also photos of Fort Langley and his family. Fond also includes copy of complete set of photos offered to the Museum, including those which were not retained by the Museum.

Brooks, Arthur (Art)
Arthur Brooks was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England on December 21, 1914. His parents, George William (b. November 11, 1888) and Eleanor May Brooks (née Shepherd) immigrated to Edmonton in 1922 where Art continued school until 1932. The family bought land in the Coghlan area in 1935 and developed a dairy herd. Art married Dorothy Abbot, August 15, 1939, and they had a son, Robert, in 1940. Art played a leading role in the Farmer's Institute and was president for 11 years. After a dispute with the Agricultural Production Board, he gave up his wartime exemption and enrolled in the army in 1945. After the war, Art returned to dairy farming and his father took on a political role as Reeve of Langley Township for some years. Art served as an alderman from 1975 to 1979.
Nordman, Oscar William
Oscar William Nordman was a farmer and cattle breeder in the Derby, B.C., area and was the Secretary of the Derby Dyking District.
Poppy, David William, Jr.
David William Poppy was Mayor of the Township of Langley from 1967 - 1971, Reeve 1956 - 1967 and Councillor in 1944, 1946 - 1955.

Poppy, Helen (nee McLaren)
Helen McLaren was born in January, 1917, in Langley, to Elizabeth and Robert McLaren. She served as a cook and in administration for women's departments in the military during World War II. She married David William Poppy Jr. and they had four children: Roberta, Judy, Bill, and Jimmy.
