The image shows the tops of many buildings and trees poking out of the flood waters. In a handwritten script along the bottom edge there is an inscription that reads, "GLEN VALLEY FLOOD 1948".

Glen Valley Dyking and Drainage District

The Glen Valley Dyking and Drainage District, earlier known as the Glen Valley Dyking District, administered dyking and drainage activities for the Glen Valley area of Langley, B.C. It was incorporated in 1909 and it was taken over by the District of Langley sometime after 1968. During its time the valley flooded badly in 1948.
