Joan Murrell lived in Surrey, BC. She was a wife, mother, artist and an active community member. She was a volunteer at the Langley Family Services for 12 years and active with the Cloverdale Community Association. She passed away in 1991. In 1992 Langley Family Services established an award in her name to go to women who have also contributed to the community. She was married to John Murrell and had sons Robin and Michael.
