West's Mill
Henry West (1835-1900) married Louisa Fallardeau. The couple had 11 children. They built a homestead and mill between the Fraser River and what is now known as 88th Avenue. West commissioned the steamer Ramona in c. 1880-90’s. Ramona carried log booms from Stave Lake and Harrison Lake to the mill. Ramona suffered a boiler explosion in 1901, resulting in the deaths of four people.
