The Cadboro remained anchored off-shore in the Fraser River in 1827 untill James McMillan and party built the first Fort Langley for the H.B.C. at the Derby site and could safely occupy the new fur trading post.
Chalmers, James
James Chalmers was born overseas. In 1891 he qualified as a Chemist and Druggist in Edinburgh. He married Isabella Hutcheon and they moved to a homestead near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan by the early 1900s.
