The text printed on the left reads: "VARNISH/ A HIGH GLOSS/ VARNISH FOR/ FLOORS/ FURNITURE/ WOODWORK/ LINOLEUM/ ETC./ ENAMEL/ FOR/ WOODWORK/ FURNITURE/ FLOORS/ ETC./" On the right, the text reads: "SATIN FINISH/ A beautiful semi-gloss/ finish suitable for/ WALLS/ CEILINGS/ WOODWORK/ ETC./ ENAMEL/ HIGH GLOSS/ QUICK-/ DRYING/" At the bottom of the envelope, it reads: "for all interior decorating". In the centre of the text and the envelope is a racial caricature in overalls and a striped shirt, carrying a yellow paint bucket.
