Norris House (Robert Norris Residence)
Found at 6122 Glover Road, this house is the oldest known private residence in Langley. Familiar with Eastern buildings, Robert Norris built a Gothic cottage here in 1878. The house has a central wall dormer above the front entry. Active in the community, Norris operated a lending library from this house. A group of settlers also met here to discuss the building of a Methodist church in Milner at the intersection of Glover Road and 216 Street. Norris lived here until he died in 1890. His wife Mary Ann died in 1916. The farm was run by their son Jack until he retired in 1929.
