Glen C. Haddrell was born September 24, 1930, in Summerland, B.C., and was raised on a dairy farm near Abbotsford. He worked as a seaman and a logger on the B.C. coast, and in the Internatinal Correspondence schools. He was elected president of the Haney I.W.A., and of the Abbotsford Co-operative Housing Association. He was an assistant manager of the Abbotsford Credit Union when he became a member of the NDP party, and he was a candidate in the 1968 federal election for the riding of Fraser Valley East.
