Description
Fonds consists of five glass plate negatives and related prints depicting the Pratt farm in Langley located at 22089 Telegraph Trail. It also includes a receipt for interest on the Pratt mortgage.

Pratt, John Stevens
John Stevens Pratt was born on August 12, 1842 in Ontario. He was a farmer and blacksmith in Ontario, before moving to British Columbia. By 1895, he held a mortgage on the south part of lot 238 in Langley -- approximately 80 acres. He is listed in the Langley Directories as a farmer from 1890-1893, as a labourer from 1903-1905, and a farmer again from 1908-1911. John Stevens Pratt died on August 8, 1928 at the age of 85 in Kamloops. According to the donor, Reverend Herbert Butler acted as the agent for J.S. Pratt.
