Viewing Object

The Allen/Hall residence is located at 25490 84th Avenue. Brothers George and John (Jack) Allen bought 80 acres from local pioneer Murdock McIver in 1890. George built this house on his portion of the property shortly after. It was moved to the south when the road was surveyed directly through its original location. Although George sold it in 1900, it was regained by Jack in a 1905 trade. In 1907 the property was sold to George Hall, a farmer who had recently emigrated from England. In approximately 1909 he decided to add a front porch and an addition at the rear, and in about 1930 he built the present front porch and applied cedar shingles over the original drop siding. The house left the possession of the family in about 1990.
