Douglas Day celebrations held every November in the Township of Langley, B.C., commemorate the founding of the mainland colony of British Columbia by Sir James Douglas at Fort Langley, B.C., on November 19, 1858.
Langley Events Centre
Located at 7888 200 Street, the LEC opened in March 2009. Opening Celebrations occurred on Saturday, June 13, 2009. The 260,000 square foot facility features the Willoughby Community Centre, the Willoughby Community Park, an arena, a triple gymnasium, a gymnastics training centre, banquet space, commercial and office space. The Vancouver Giants, Vancouver Stealth, and various Trinity Western University sports teams call the LEC home.
