Monkey Wrench: handle is wooden and painted dark red; all other pieces of the wrench are metal; stamped on the inside of the body"MADE IS USA" of the wrench is; on the opposite side of the handle "FOR STEEL" is stamped; head is squared; jaw is adjustable, straight and without teeth. This Monkey Wrench is the early version of the Stillson or Pipe wrench and was used by Al Reimer on his well drilling rig when he drilled the test holes for the Langley water system in Fort Langley and Brookswood in the 1950s.
